An owl peeks curiously out of a tree hollow covered in snow.

Three generations stroll through a wood where time seems to slow down

In a vast mountainous region in north-eastern France, a father, son and grandfather set off together into the woods. Amidst the mist and towering fir trees, they follow the rhythm of the forest and whatever it reveals.

Following The Velvet Queen, nature photographer and filmmaker Vincent Munier returns to the region where he grew up. Together with his father Michel and his son Simon, he is staying in the vast forests of the Vosges. From hides, they observe lynx, deer, owls and other animals that rarely show themselves.
