Surfing, sailing and more sport by the sea
At the The Hague Beach Stadium at Scheveningen, every sports enthusiast can get their fill! Beach volleyball, beachtennis, beach sports for seniors, sea swimming and so on. This stadium often hosts international sporting events as well.
Whether you want to learn windsurfing, wave surfing or kitesurfing, The Hague is the only Dutch city where you will find so many surf schools together. In Scheveningen and at Zuiderstrand, there is plenty of choice during the beach season, and there are also many activities and lessons for children!
The most beautiful waves can be found in Scheveningen
Scheveningen is a real 'surfers' paradise'. Kiting, wave surfing or windsurfing happens mainly on the north side of Scheveningen harbour. Between the harbour and the lighthouse is the hotspot for surfers and there are also several surf schools such as Aloha Surfschool and Hartbeach where you can take lessons.
You can also find three coastal sailing clubs along the Hague coast beach: KZVS at Zwarte Pad, HKZV at beach junction 10 Westduinpark and Sailcenter 107 between beach junctions 2 and 2a south of Kijkduin. Read more information on how to reach the different beaches.
