In the atmospheric Oude Kerk in Voorburg, ensemble Harmonia Parnassia brings his rarely heard masterpieces back to life. Let yourself be carried away by the sounds of baroque strings and harpsichord in a unique evening concert in which music, art and history merge.
Carolus Hacquart revives: a baroque concert in the Oude Kerk Voorburg
On Saturday 7 June 2025, the Oude Kerk in Voorburg will be the setting for a special musical tribute to Carolus Hacquart a forgotten great of the Dutch Golden Age. Harmonia Parnassia will perform five sonatas from Hacquart's “Harmonia parnassia sonatarum”, with musicians of international stature conducted by Sevastianos Motorinos. To enrich this musical journey, visitors will receive a beautifully designed booklet with in-depth research by musicologist Maria Zwartbol. Discover the world of Hacquart and the musical landscape of the Dutch Republic, accompanied by stunning works of art from the Rijksmuseum, carefully selected to reflect the music and deepen the experience.
