Consort Week
During Consort Week, Early Music students delve into consorts. A consort in early music refers to an ensemble of musical instruments that was popular during the 16th and 17th centuries.
Enchanting sounds
Be enchanted by the splendour of times gone by, with the compelling sounds of Renaissance trombones, (recorder) flutes, dulcian and viola da gamba, among others.
The programme is diverse: on Tuesday 14 January, the gamba class presents itself. On Friday 17 January, a larger broken consort, consisting of a mix of different instruments, will play works by Michael Praetorius and Heinrich Schütz.
