De Regentes - Season Opening
De Regentes in The Hague kicks off the new theatre season with an evening of music, dance, workshops and stories from around the world. On Friday 4 September 2026, the Grote Zaal of De Regentes takes centre stage with a colourful preview of everything the season has in store.
From 19:00, DJ Mis D'issi sets the tone in the Theatercafé with a warm welcome. At the same time, the smaller halls open their doors for four parallel activities: singing along with De Sodano's, a flamenco palmas workshop with Jessica Achten, oriental dance with Ahlem, and storytelling from around the world with Qissa. Participation is key here.

At 21:00, everyone gathers in the Grote Zaal for an exclusive preview of the upcoming theatre season. Flamenco by Carlos Ema and Jessica Achten, dance by Poernima Gobardhan, and theatre by Marene van Holk take turns on stage. Then it's the turn of Jong Metropole Orkest featuring Maite Hontelé and the Amsterdams Andalusisch Orkest. What else the programme holds remains a surprise.
Latin afterparty in The Hague
From 22:15, Roda de Holanda takes over the Theatercafé with swinging Latin music. Those who prefer the terrace over the dance floor can enjoy the atmosphere there too, as the vibe carries the summer night along.
