Familie Vinger & Tante Sopraan – Children's Concert
Classical music for the very young: on Saturday 12 September, Theater De Veste hosts a lively toddler concert. Piano duo Lestari Scholtes & Gwylim Janssens and soprano Kirila Kraal perform Familie Vinger & Tante Sopraan, an interactive concert for children aged 2 to 4, as part of the Delft Chamber Music Festival 2026.
Most children know the nursery rhyme 'Familie Vinger'. For this concert, the famous family has grown considerably: the twenty fingers of piano duo Lestari Scholtes and Gwylim Janssens make up the new, extended Familie Vinger. Joining them is tante Sopraan, performed by soprano Kirila Kraal. Together they take the toddlers on a musical journey through nursery rhymes and classical favourites.
Singing, dancing and guessing animals
The children are anything but passive during this concert. They sing along, dance, jump and guess which animal matches the music. It is hands-on from start to finish. At the very end, every toddler is invited onto the stage to perform a specially rehearsed song together with tante Sopraan and Familie Vinger, right in front of all the parents and grandparents in the audience. A moment the whole family will remember.
Practical information
The toddler concert at Theater De Veste lasts around 35 to 40 minutes, perfectly matched to a young child's attention span. Children aged 2 to 4 are the stars of the show, but parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles are more than welcome. The concert is part of the Delft Chamber Music Festival 2026 and takes place on Saturday 12 September at 11:30.
