FOIA Comedy
Comedy & Bluegrass About Strange Public Records is a hilarious evening inspired by an unusual source: real government documents. These include immigration visa applications, letters written to the government and complaints about US TV shows, in addition to an award-winning bluegrass band playing songs on these topics.
A comedy and bluegrass show about public documents
This show has been seen in New York, Los Angeles and Washington DC, and is currently on tour in the Netherlands and the UK. If you like history, journalism, libraries, banjos, archives or humour in unusual places, this is the show for you.
FOIA Comedy
America's best comedians and bluegrass musicians have joined forces to bring you an unforgettable evening. Maddie Witler (mandolin) was a recent member of Grammy-nominated, all-female group Della Mae. Kathleen Parks (fiddle) has a deep grounding in Celtic and American roots music that blends with her love of soulful vocals, funk rhythms and groove-based improvisation. Comedian Curtis Raye hails from rural Wantage, New Jersey, but he spent eight years in Washington DC and one year in Iowa. He worked on presidential elections and observed comedy in public documents. He learned that school board meetings, court testimony and even White House menus are treasure troves of human folly.
