An abstract composition of twigs on a background.

The exhibition Timeline explores the connection between space and time, between what is formed and what decays. The work of both artists — Hannah Blom and Marieta Reijerkerk — focuses on the search for the essential and the elementary. Their approaches differ, but they converge in the way they reduce the world to structure, material and silence.

Hannah Blom creates sculptures that surprise and challenge. She plays with form and tension, works both figuratively and abstractly, and uses welding, glue, thread or knots to explore how matter relates to space. In her work, every gesture seems to be an attempt to break through the obvious. Her sculptures invite us to look and to move with them; they create openings where the viewer's imagination is given free rein.

Marieta Reijerkerk takes her cue from the traces of what has been. During her travels to China, Mongolia, India, Mexico, Tajikistan and other countries, she collects impressions of places where the past is still visibly present. In her work — which ranges from paintings and graphic art to objects made of wood, metal and textiles — these impressions are transformed into new forms. They are silent witnesses to time and transience, found fragments that elude the moment.

Timeline brings these two worlds together. Where Hannah Blom explores space and brings it to life, Marieta Reijerkerk reveals the traces of time. Together, they create a dialogue between making and finding, between the playfulness of the present and the residue of the past. Their work invites us to pause, look, and feel time flow for a moment.
