Maryse Kok - Imperfect growth
17 Jun - 5 Jul
For her first solo exhibition at Pulchri Studio, Maryse Kok is showing a selection of old and new paintings in which nature, tranquillity and imperfection take centre stage.
Inspired by the philosophy of Ikebana, Maryse explores the harmony between space, form and composition. Her work falls within the realm of contemporary figurative painting and is characterised by simple forms, contrasting colours and a poetic atmosphere.
Drawing on her background as a graphic designer, Maryse has developed her own visual language in which flowers, plants, animals and human influences come together. She sees the act of painting as a meditative way of expressing tranquillity, mindfulness and a connection with nature.
The exhibition has been made possible in part by Pulchro Sacrum.
Please note: The exhibition will be closed on Thursday 18 June
