During the annual Graduation Show of the Royal Academy of Art (KABK) in The Hague, a special guided tour for people with a visual impairment will take place on Monday, 6 July at 1:00 PM. The tour will be held in the academy’s historic building at Prinsessegracht 4 and will be led by André Kruysen, Fine Arts lecturer at KABK.

Art Tasting

The Graduation Show is the culmination of the studies of more than 220 graduating Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD students from the Netherlands and abroad. During the exhibition, they present their final projects across a wide range of disciplines, including fine arts, photography, graphic design, installations, performance, film, fashion, and sound art.

During this special Art Tasting, blind and visually impaired visitors will have the opportunity to experience a selection of these graduation projects. Students will personally introduce their work, discussing the materials they used, their creative process, and the ideas behind their projects. Where possible, artworks will also be made accessible through touch, creating a unique and engaging encounter between artists and visitors.

Building on the success of last year’s initiative, this guided tour offers people with a visual impairment the chance to experience contemporary art in an accessible, personal, and meaningful way.
