An art installation with illuminated objects in an empty space.

A symphony of 100 forbidden, censored voices: in For, in your tongue, I cannot fit, Shilpa Gupta gives a voice to poets who have been imprisoned throughout the centuries because of their writings or their beliefs. This remarkable sound installation from the Voorlinden collection is on display in the Netherlands for the first time.

The key work For, in your tongue, I cannot fit by Shilpa Gupta is on display alongside a selection of her work from the museum collection. In her work, the multidisciplinary artist from India often emphasises the fragility of the right to freedom of expression, even in this day and age. She also questions geographical and political boundaries, as well as the way we view others and ourselves.
