The future is already written
11 Nov - 11 Jan 2026
Exhibition
How did people used to think about the future? The KB collection is bursting with predictions. Dreams about space travel and ideas about new technologies, but also insights from constellations. Fantasising about the future offers hope for a better world.
Visions of the future are often based on the idea of progress. But sometimes these fantasies lead to great fears. For example, of dictatorship, war or a total computer crash. Visions of the future always hold up a mirror to humanity. What do you want to change, what do you want to preserve, what must you prevent?
Would you like to discover what people have written about the future? This exhibition brings together a number of remarkable works from the KB collection. From utopias to doomsday scenarios, which fortunately did not always come true. But you will also see predictions that are close to reality.
