Tineke Porck & Cees Post - IN LIJN
Tineke Porck invited Cees Post for the duo exhibition ‘IN LINE’, on show at Pulchri Studio's Garden Gallery. They both participated in the international exhibition ‘Pulchri Concreet’ in June 2024. Not only is their work an extension of each other's, but line also plays an important role for both artists.
Tineke Porck sees line as an element of connection, and structure. She shows drawings including.
'at base, the line is,
moving, and building;
without line there is nothing,
nothing that connects,
nothing that holds'
Cees Post creates silver objects that are wearable as jewellery. Straight lines of silver and clean geometric shapes are characteristic of his work. Rectangles, triangles or squares, spatial or in the flat plane, with staggered, shifting or wavy lines on top. Shifting staggered lines and using the properties of the silver (matt, shiny, oxidised) create optical effects. It is always an exploration of geometric form in all its variations. The compositions come about completely instinctively. Besides the jewellery objects, this exhibition also features 4 silver objects that Cees Post calls containers. The sides of the containers are the same. From above, you can look into the containers and the characteristic interplay of lines will be visible.
