On 4 March 2026, the Royal Conservatoire celebrates its 200th anniversary by bringing dozens of free performances by their students to the entire city of The Hague. Inspired by the motto All The Hague’s our stage, trumpeters, drummers, harpists and opera singers leave their studios and classrooms to surprise the public with music in squares, on public transport, and in hospitals, libraries and community centers across the city with 20 harpists in the Atrium City Hall.

Program
The central program begins at 14:45 hours in Amare. After a welcome by Director Lies Colman, a fanfare sounds from the balcony. A festive percussion parade then leads the audience to the observation tower.

At 16:30 hours, twenty harpists perform Postcard from Heaven on 20 harps in the Atrium City Hall. In 1969, John Cage’s HPSCHD presented music as a living system: a world of sound, image, machines and chance, inviting audiences to immerse themselves fully. Decades later, bachelor’s and master’s students from the ArtScience department activate the Atrium as a place to experience the world anew.

Come and be surprised on March 4. Listen and celebrate. It will be a day filled with music, energy, and creativity, by and for the whole of The Hague.
