With her mesmerizing sculptures and installations, Alicja Kwade (1979) defies the boundaries of reality and perception. She often uses everyday objects and plays with the essence of materiality. The artist transcends traditional artistic norms and lead you into a world where time, space and matter are intertwined in the most fascinating way.
The solo exhibition of Alicja Kwade at Voorlinden promises to be an immersive experience, one that will challenge your perception, stimulate your curiosity and make you question what you think you know and understand. The exhibition at Voorlinden will be Alicja Kwade’s first solo in the Netherlands.
She has previously exhibited at the Venice Biennale and Art Basel and at the Whitechapel Gallery in London and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, among other venues. Museum Voorlinden has several works by the artist in its collection.
'My work is like a searching process. To think forward and try to learn.'
