A woman in a white outfit writes 'IN DARK' on the wall.

In The Line That Remains , artist Ana Priscila Rodriguez explores what remains after change and moments of upheaval. The exhibition centres on memory, vulnerability and the traces that experiences leave behind.

Rodriguez creates conceptual self-portraits and manipulates them using various techniques. Through layers, fragments and collages, he creates images in which the original image is transformed. The body plays a key role in this as a vessel for emotions and experiences.

Elements such as water and shadow recur in the work as references to change. A red thread runs through several works and symbolises what endures, such as memories and connection.

The images oscillate between the recognisable and the abstract. They invite viewers to reflect on personal feelings and memories. The story begins with the artist, but takes on meaning for the visitor.

Ana Priscila Rodriguez (Mexico City, 1974) studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Utrecht. Her work has been exhibited in the Netherlands and other European countries and has won several international photography awards.
