Chud Thai: The Knowledge, Craftmanship and Practices of The Thai National Costume
Cultuur
Hotel Des Indes presents on Friday, 10 April 2026 (11:00–16:00) a unique exhibition exploring Chud Thai, Thailand’s national costume, through heritage and contemporary design.
The exhibition pays tribute to Queen Sirikit, who famously wore the Thai national dress during her state visit to the Netherlands in 1960, including at an official dinner held at Hotel Des Indes. It also highlights Chud Thai’s nomination for UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage status in 2026, marking an important milestone for Thailand’s living traditions.
Visitors can discover royal ceremonial and contemporary ensembles, exquisite Thai silk creations, and signature textiles. The programme also features live artisan demonstrations and interactive workshops.
