Poesía enlatada is a performance for three objects and two musicians, incorporating elements of storytelling and Fluxus.

The three objects – metal structures with mechanical parts and contact microphones – together form the basis for sound, image and text. They define the space within which the performers improvise.

The performance uses instructions and motifs to guide the improvisation. These consist of gestures, sounds and words, and are intended for both the performers and the audience.

Examples of these instructions include paying a compliment to a ‘sad’ box or bringing along a pair of clean socks. These playful tasks make the audience part of the performance.

What can you expect from this performance?

  • A combination of music, poetry and imagery
  • Improvisation with objects and sound
  • Influences from Fluxus and experimental art
  • Interaction with the audience through instructions
