Jimding
Music
The Hague-based blues-roots trio Jimding will be breaking new ground on Sunday afternoon, 28 December, with a performance in the intimate setting of JAZZ Coffee and Wines on Noordeinde in The Hague.
Jimding
Jimding has an extensive repertoire of original compositions, inspired by blues, rock 'n' roll, rhythm and blues, country and even Latin icons, ranging from Muddy Waters and Sonny Boy Williamson to the Rolling Stones, Otis Redding, the Buena Vista Social Club and Tom Waits, to name but a few. But that's not to say they'll be leaving out jazz giants such as Thelonious Monk, Charles Mingus, Mose Allison, Billie Holiday, Louis Armstrong, and so on. They will be testing the audience with two 'jazz adjacent' sets from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Jimding brings together three seasoned old souls: blues grunter Jim Wake, bassist Nico Hart, and percussionist John den Exter. In an extensive repertoire of his own compositions, Jimding ponders and broods about love and loss, trial and error, betrayal and farewell, the sublime and the ridiculous, served up as a cocktail of irony, annoyance, and appreciation for the absurdities of life.
