ARTNOMADEN is an art community in which member artists join forces. The artists work from different disciplines, but in their work they find a great degree of kinship; they work associatively, figuratively, from a layered narrative.

The artists explore human existence in all its manifestations.
Overlooking someone or something (=not not noticing someone, forgetting to take someone or something into account, not seeing something)
To overlook something (=to forget or miss something)
To overlook (=forgetting, not noticing)

Nobody wants to be overlooked, at least not all the time. As artists, we have an ambivalent attitude with wanting to be seen. We love showing our images to the public. To see the interaction between the viewer and our work. But we love much more the periods when we imagine ourselves unseen in the studio, can plunge undisturbed into new ideas and lose ourselves completely in research. That which we doubt about remains hidden from public view for a while. But there comes a time when the images have to go outside. It must be seen, otherwise it does not exist.

The artists of ARTNOMADEN think this ambivalent attitude is recognisable even to non-artists. Especially now that people are doing their best to remain constantly visible through all the channels available. For everyone, there are bound to be moments when you would rather be overlooked for a while.
In this sixth exhibition ARTNOMADEN, we show the head in which all these and other recognisable concoctions take place. Nothing human is alien to us.

Participating artists:
Riëlle Beekmans, vandeCamp&Heesterbeek, Leon Perlot and Astrid van Rijn.
