Clean Neighbourhood Campaign: Fishing for Plastic Waste

Plastic waste is a major problem. It pollutes the water and eventually ends up in the sea. Animals can become entangled in it or swallow it. The ‘Plastic Soup’ fishing game raises awareness of this problem in an accessible way.

During this activity, you’ll head out onto the water together to fish plastic waste out of the canals and waterways in The Hague.

The activity is suitable for children, but adults are welcome to join in too. By collecting rubbish from the water yourself, you can see the impact immediately. This makes it educational and gives you a sense of achievement.

Fishing for plastic waste is a practical way to help keep the city cleaner whilst raising awareness of litter.
