How can we achieve peace in our own city? What scope is there for dialogue as an instrument for peace, amid increasing tensions in Dutch society?
Come to the upcoming edition of Fireside Peace Chats, where we will talk to Jakob de Jonge, chair of The Hague Peace Projects, about "Peace at Home". Against the backdrop of global geopolitical instability, this evening offers an opportunity to reflect on how peace can be achieved at the local level, the balance between security and solidarity, and what vigilance means in an increasingly militarised world.

Who is it for?

Fireside Peace Chats are designed to bring together peacebuilders, enthusiasts, and engaged citizens to connect, share experiences, and exchange insights on how we can strengthen resilience within our local communities.

What are the Fireside Peace Chats?

The Fireside Peace Chats aim to create a welcoming space where practice, research, and policy in the field of peacebuilding come together informally, through the lived experiences of people on the ground. By sharing personal stories from peacebuilders and other individuals with extensive experience in conflict-affected areas, we seek to contribute to a locally grounded shift in the liberal peacebuilding paradigm.

The Fireside Peace Chats originated as a collaborative initiative by Leiden University College (LUC), the Knowledge Platform for Security and Rule of Law (KPSRL), and The Hague Humanity Hub (THHH).
