On Friday 8 May 2026, blues icon Hans Theessink performs at Theater In de Steeg. Recognized as one of the world’s top country blues artists, Theessink has been “on the road” for over 50 years, playing more than 8,000 concerts across the globe.
Born in the Netherlands and based in Vienna, he was inspired by blues legends like Big Bill Broonzy and Leadbelly. With his deep, resonant voice, refined guitar and harmonica skills, and distinctive style, Theessink has captivated audiences at major blues and folk festivals worldwide. He was the only European nominated for a Blues Award in Memphis and was inducted into the Dutch Blues Hall of Fame in 2018.
