On Saturday 16 August 2025, Lange Voorhout will be buzzing with music, smells and stories. Meet Jalan Pedis a brand new open-air festival full of Indian and Moluccan heritage, street food and performance. A modern ode to tradition, in the middle of the city.

Spicy new Indian festival in the heart of The Hague

After the Tong Tong Fair ended, there was a desire for something new. Something contemporary, inclusive and vibrant. Jalan Pedis is the answer: a first, small-scale edition of a bigger idea. The festival marks the pre-launch of Jalan Jalan, an annual city festival that from 2026 will allow all of The Hague to enjoy Indian culture, in all its flavours and shades.

What can you expect at Jalan Pedis?

  • Indian street food with a twist: From satay to nasi goreng, vegan snacks to spicy sambal at Jalan Pedis, it's all about eating, tasting and enjoying together. With food trucks such as the Satay Bar, Nasitruck and the Indo Snack Car, there is something tasty for every taste and lifestyle.

  • Live music, dance and spoken word: Expect performances by young makers, dance groups, spoken word artists and musicians with Indian and Moluccan roots.

  • Art and heritage: Jalan Pedis is more than just a party. It is also a place of stories, remembrance and connection.
