"This is the dawn!" will be a cultural journey through the heart and soul of Portugal, commemorating the 50 years of the Carnation Revolution. Join us for an unforgettable evening celebrating not only the music, but also the values of freedom and democracy that this day represents for Portugal.

As April 25, 1974 dawned, echoes of change reverberated throughout the country as Portuguese soldiers took a stand for freedom and democracy. This concert is a tribute to their courage and resilience. We present to you the songs that played a crucial role in lighting the flames of revolution and inspiring a nation to rise up against oppression.

Kahelo is a chamber choir formed by musicians who study at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague. The purpose of this ensemble is to celebrate and promote the significance of choral music. Although our common thread is rooted in Portuguese heritage, our repertoire extends beyond the boundaries of a unique tradition. By embracing this diversity, Kahelo aims to offer audiences an engaging musical experience that transcends cultural boundaries.

In addition, Kahelo is committed to promoting cultural exchanges and collaboration within the musical community. We look for opportunities to connect with international composers, musicians and artists to enrich our repertoire and contribute to the global dialogue of choral music.
