The Swan Lake, a classical masterpiece in two acts, will be performed on 4 and 5 April 2026 at the World Forum in The Hague as part of a new European tour. This brand-new production promises to be an enchanting experience from start to finish.
Magical story
In a brand new European tour, you will find the romantic love of a swan princess and her prince in a new production with amazing scenery and dazzling costumes. This ballet immerses you in the magical story of Prince Siegfried and Princess Odette. She is the victim of the famous spell cast by the sorcerer Rothbart: she turns into a swan during the day and becomes a woman again at night. Only the promise of eternal love can free her from this spell. Siegfried then promises Odette to marry him at the ball given in his honour. Will they escape the deception of Rothbart and his daughter Odile? Will the prince succeed in saving his bride?
Created in 1875 by Russian composer Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Swan Lake became the greatest classical success of all time in 1895 with the version by choreographer Marius Petipa. Between ‘Pas de deux’, romantic duets and the dance of ‘The Little Swans’, the dancers, accompanied by a renowned orchestra, will perform this masterful work with elegance.
