Collective Composing
Daniel Bierdümpfl invites you to compose collectively. In his Collective Composing workshop, the audience becomes the composer, working together with improvising musicians
Draw along to a graphic composition performed live
During the workshop, you will draw your own piece of music using a graphic method. Does yours sound soft, loud, hectic, shy or maybe even a little drunk? The drawn compositions are then interpreted by four musicians from The Hague-based Pluvia Collective, in which the drawings come together. During the evening, several compositions will thus be drawn, translated and performed.
Composers translate their thoughts and ideas into symbols and images. Those symbols are in turn translated by musicians, computers or other systems that convert the visual language of the composer into sound. Composers write a script for a series of actions and sounds. They write a monologue, the musicians perform it. What would a dialogue between composer and musician sound like?
