From 20 to 24 December, the Grote Marktstraat in The Hague will be transformed into an atmospheric Winter Square filled with winter cheer. Visitors can enjoy sparkling entertainment, delicious snacks and drinks, and a warm, festive atmosphere in the heart of the city. The square, next to the large Christmas tree, will be transformed into a cosy meeting place with lights, music and surprising performances for young and old. Whether you come for the conviviality, to sample winter delicacies or simply to enjoy the Christmas atmosphere, the Winter Square on the Grote Markt is the place to be to ring in the festive season in The Hague.
A convenient packing service in the heart of The Hague
This year, at Winterplein on Grote Marktstraat, you can not only enjoy the festive atmosphere and entertainment, but also take advantage of a handy gift-wrapping service! From 20 to 24 December, cheerful gift-wrappers will be on hand to wrap your gifts beautifully, in true winter style. While you relax with a hot chocolate, they will take care of the perfect gift, ready to place under the Christmas tree.
Workshop: decorate your own Christmas stocking or Christmas hat
During the Christmas period, children can take part in a creative workshop on Winterplein in Grote Marktstraat. Under the guidance of Laurant Kids Atelier and De Bruiloft Nanny’s, they can decorate their own Christmas stocking or Christmas hat. The workshop is suitable for children aged 4 and above and takes place in a cosy Christmas atmosphere.
Afterwards, children can take their decorated sock or hat home with them straight away. The activity takes about 30 minutes and is only possible under the supervision of a parent or carer.

- Participation is free of charge, but registration is required.
Winter Square City Centre Programme
Every day in the city centre:
Singing gifts and Christmas trees, Christmas music, free gift wrapping service, crafts for children, food truck with hot chocolate and waffles, and BOB the Bear (the large inflatable bear from De Bijenkorf). The acts will be spread throughout the shopping area.

- Sun 21 Dec: The Penguins + photo with Santa Claus
- Mon 22 Dec: Stilt act Hemeltjelief & Dick Ronteltrap live on the saxophone
- Tue 23 Dec: Santa's jumping animals, Boris & the Baroness and a big Christmas Parade
- Wed 24 Dec: Stilt act Hemeltjelief & Gospel choir Theresia Kranendonk
