The Various Beaches of The Hague and Their Beach Pavilions

The list of beaches is presented from North to South.

Zwarte Pad Scheveningen

Zwarte Pad is less touristy than the Kurhaus and the Pier but is the go-to spot for the most beach parties during summer. It's also a great place to relax with a glass of rosé or enjoy a meal at a trendy beach pavilion.

• Boomerang Beach
  At this charming, eco-friendly beach pavilion, you'll instantly feel tropical vibes. Boomerang uses fresh, artisanal products and serves delightful organic wines.

• Manta Beach
  Manta Beach is all about relaxing with a good feeling. Sun, sea, beach and the best vibes - without fuss and with respect for the environment.  

• Patagonia 
  Patagonia is the ultimate place to unwind during the summer months, offering delicious food, good music, and lively parties.

Noordboulevard Scheveningen

The Noordboulevard is a small yet delightful and complete part of Scheveningen, located to the right of the Pier. You'll find everything here: restaurants, beach pavilions, shops, and surfers, thanks to the Pier's excellent waves. And the best part? It's not too crowded, offering unobstructed views of the sea.

• Beachclub Zeezicht
  For beachside fun that lasts into the late hours, head to Beachclub Zeezicht. With comfortable lounge sofas and a kitchen that stays open late—even past midnight!
• Foodhall Scheveningen
  This colourful food hall offers limitless delicacies under one roof. The food stands present a worldly selection, with choices from 16 different cuisines. Will it be bitterballen, spare ribs, Spanish churros, or perhaps an Asian dish?

Beach by the Kurhaus and the Pier

This is the liveliest stretch of beach along the boulevard, featuring eateries offering chips and ice cream, as well as children's activities. There's a carousel, a trampoline park, bouncy castles, a games hall, and attractions like SEA LIFE and LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre Scheveningen. On the Pier, you'll find an indoor playground, shops, and eateries. At the beach, you can relax and enjoy these beach pavilions.

• Miss Maui Beachhouse
  Miss Maui is a fine dining restaurant on the beach. Here, you can experience quality dining with your feet in the sand.

• The Fat Mermaid
  The Fat Mermaid is a trendy beach pavilion where you'll encounter many locals and young people. Famous for its delicious cocktails, but the entire menu is excellent!

• Oceans Beach House
  Oceans Beach House is the most luxurious beach pavilion in Scheveningen. Located right in front of the Kurhaus hotel, Oceans is the place to enjoy the best fish dishes daily from March to October.

Middenboulevard and the Northern Harbour Head

The surf beach! You can learn to surf here or watch experienced surfers while enjoying a drink on the terrace. This part of the beach offers plenty of peace and space. At the Northern Harbour Head, you can get a glimpse of the "Scheveningen life" by watching the fishing boats entering and leaving the harbour.

• The Shore Scheveningen
  The Shore is a sustainable surf school and meeting place; the living room on the beach for surfers, nature lovers, and those who enjoy honest and conscious living. The pancakes are divine!

• Hart Beach Quick Silver Surfschool
  Hart Beach Quiksilver Surfschool is open year-round. Here, you can enjoy everything related to the surf lifestyle: from surf lessons to surf rentals, events, a surf shop, and delicious food & drinks.

• Xiringuito
  Xiringuito is a surprisingly intimate place where you can enjoy the warmth and cosiness of the Mediterranean and its cuisine with a drink in your hand and your feet in the sand.

• Aloha
  Aloha is a beach pavilion with a surf school, surf shop, and restaurant. This lovely beach spot is also open year-round. Be sure to try their famous satay!

Zuiderstrand

The Zuiderstrand, located directly behind the dunes, is one of the most beautiful parts of The Hague. Locals also refer to it as the 'quiet beach'. Here, you'll find several authentic beach pavilions, making it a perfect spot for water sports.

• Strandpaviljoen Zuid
  Strandpaviljoen Zuid is the favourite hangout for the relaxed segment of The Hague's locals. It focuses on good and tasty food, working as much as possible with natural ingredients and regional products.

• Strandpaviljoen De Staat
  Strandpaviljoen De Staat on The Hague's Zuiderstrand is a haven for bon vivants craving culinary delights in a natural setting. Here, you can enjoy delicious organic meals with an unobstructed view of the setting sun.

Kijkduin

The intimate scale of Kijkduin adds to its charm. Currently, there's significant construction underway, but you can still enjoy a beautiful sea view. To the south, you'll find the Sand Motor, an artificial peninsula where you can watch kite surfers showcase their skills.

• De Kwartel
  Behind the beautiful dunes of the Vogelwijk lies Strandpaviljoen De Kwartel. Here, you'll find a sustainable oasis of tranquillity where you can enjoy organic meals.
