Classical NOW! – Antonii Baryshevskyi: Etudes from Chopin to Shalygin
Pianist Antonii Baryshevskyi presents a full-length programme of etudes. He always astounds his audience with an inexhaustibly rich palette of colours and with the communicative power of his playing. First Prizes he won at the Arthur Rubinstein Competition and the Ferruccio Busoni International Piano Competition.
Two leading competitions. In prestige concert halls, he achieved successes, from Wigmore Hall in London to the Philharmonie in Berlin. With this etude programme, he created a sensation in Kyiv several years ago.
Since Chopin and Liszt, composers have not only demanded virtuosity from a pianist in etudes. They also open up new worlds of sound and possibilities of expression as an incentive for a pianist to rise above himself and above his instrument. To this day, composers write groundbreaking etudes for piano.
Antonii Baryshevskyi plays a wide selection of today's etudes, by composers with whom he has a close relationship. An enervating recital. A journey through time and an ode to the boundless imagination of composers who continue to embrace new worlds of sound.
