Julie Hendriks - The houses where I've lived
The memory of the place where you feel at home. An interior, a colour, a feeling of security or, on the contrary, insecurity. It all comes up in Julie Hendriks' solo exhibition.
She has since lived in many houses. Not always to her liking because life did not always go easy. Yet she always tried to make the places beautiful and warm. The paintings show different houses in which chairs often symbolise memories. Sometimes they fall, often they stand in a space where the dimensions are never quite right. As if they were stages of plays with cloths next to them that could always have hung in the houses.
