Maurits Fondse & band - Young in the '70s

In his own unique way, with personal stories and passionate performance, Maurits Fondse & Band perform the most beautiful songs from the intriguing 70's of the past century.
Growing up in a very Christian Zealand environment, Maurice comes into contact with real pop music only sparsely. Fortunately, he buys his albums in a music store in neighboring Bergen op Zoom. This is how he discovers the pure beauty of Andrew Gold, Todd Rundgren and many others.
The 70's bring forth songs that go straight to the heart. With Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On" and John Lennon's "Imagine" a foundation was laid, in which not the zeitgeist produces its own music, but the other way around: this music reflects the zeitgeist and shapes it.
The Netherlands also had fine music, with Kayak and Margriet Eshuijs' "House for Sale." Also passing by is Kate Bush, The Allessi Brothers, Linda Ronstadt, Fleetwood Mac, and also the man who had his big breakthrough with "City to City," Gerry Rafferty.
Maurits Fondse has become known for his show about Billy Joel, "The Story of Billy Joel" and the success reprise "Inside Billy Joel."
