Just as Sufism fosters unity and harmony and unites western and eastern thought, this programme links together traditional Persian music, Johann Sebastian Bach and Arvo Pärt.
Together with the Iranian singer Haleh Seyfizadeh and the Iranian tar player Ali Ghamsari, the Nederlands Blazers Ensemble presents an intriguing exploration of the connections between Bach, Sufism, and the contemporary sounds of Arvo Pärt. In this symbiosis of traditional Persian music with the masterpieces by Johann Sebastian Bach, Pärt’s minimalist approach adds a contemporary nuance.
