Portrait per part of the city
Freedom means something different to everyone. That is why the Hague Freedom Meals found eight different residents of The Hague per city district who tell what freedom means to them. This gives the photo exhibition a broad picture of freedom through the eyes of 80-year-olds. The people portrayed have one thing in common: they were born in the year 1945. The year the Netherlands was liberated.

Meal of the City - The Hague Freedom Meals
In addition to the dozens of meals throughout the city, there is one very large meal every year. In the year that we celebrate eighty years of freedom, it will take place at a very special location: the Atrium City Hall is the setting for the Meal of the City. On Monday May 5th, 500 residents of The Hague can, after registration, join for the largest freedom meal in the city. None other than mayor Jan van Zanen is the host of this special meal. On Monday May 5 visitors can only come visit the photo-exhibition Sope Stories after registration for Meal of the City. Go to Meal of the City - The Hague Freedom Meals for more information and registration.
