Yke Prins - OER
Yke Prins: "All my sculptures are based on movement. Movement is energy that becomes visible through the shapes. The skin of my sculptures is therefore important, it is the sensitive surface that surrounds the shape.
Themes are primal forces in nature: the sea, the wind, water, wind, fire, earth The movements of nature, whether it is the reflection of light on water, the waves of the sea or growth forms in nature, I put these primal movements in my visual language. Walking along the eternal movement of ebb and flow, nature in winter, in spring, in autumn, it always drives me to create images that capture in abstraction how these elements are around me. From small sized sculptures to monumental format, all in an abstract visual language in which the material plays an important role."
