Spring in The Hague feels like a fresh start! The city is buzzing again, the beach bars are opening and everyone seems to be spending a little longer outside. The crocuses are colouring the Lange Voorhout beautifully again and the blossoms are shining. It's also time for ice cream, terraces and lively markets. In short, there's plenty to do! Here are 10 ideas and tips to help you enjoy spring in The Hague to the fullest.
1 The beach season is about to begin
Finally! March in The Hague is all about setting up the beach huts. It's always a great time and hopefully marks the start of a long, sunny season. With a bit of luck, you'll be able to enjoy a drink on a terrace somewhere along the 11-kilometre-long coastline in spring, whether behind glass or not...

2 Walking through The Hague's green spaces
In spring, The Hague's green spaces come to life! Stroll through the hyacinth forest at Ockenburg Estate, discover the Japanese garden in Clingendael or take a walk around the Westbroekpark, the Haagse Bos or Meijendel. Finish off with a cup of coffee at a cosy forest café and your spring day will be complete!

3 Strolling through the charming markets
As soon as the weather improves, there is nothing more enjoyable than strolling through all the charming markets. The antique market on the Lange Voorhout is a must for lovers of vintage finds, old books, prints and much more. At Marie Marché, you can immerse yourself in French culture, with stalls full of delicacies, clothing and unique treasures. With chansons playing in the background and a crêpe in your hand, it almost feels like you're in Paris.
4 Let's go to the terrace
The first sunny days immediately fill the terraces! On the Plein, the Grote Markt, or the Prins Hendrikplein, it is immediately pleasant, just like along the quays such as the Bierkade. Take a seat, order your favourite drink and feel free to linger a little longer in the sun. The Hague also has some lovely 'hidden' terrace gardens where you can sit and relax.

5 It's officially ice cream weather!
Do you always look forward to that first ice cream of the year? As soon as the sun comes out, a scoop of ice cream tastes just that little bit better. In The Hague, you will find plenty of ice cream shops where you can enjoy classic flavours and surprising new ones. Time to choose your favourite.
6 Blossom spotting
Early in the spring (March and April), beautiful cherry blossom trees bloom in The Hague. You can find them in a wide variety of neighbourhoods, from Duinoord, Regentessekwartier, and Zeeheldenkwartier to the Stationsbuurt and Zuiderpark. Take a look, for example, at the Zeeheldentuin, Prins Hendrikplein or Sweelinkplein, where there are lots of trees.
7 Cycling towards the dunes and the sea
Grab your bicycle and cycle through the dunes to Scheveningen or Kijkduin. The fresh sea air, the view over the sand and the feeling of freedom make this a typical spring activity that will give you energy. Stop for coffee along the way or end up at a beach bar for a well-deserved drink or snack. Discover some enjoyable cycle routes or perhaps a pleasant walking route towards the sea?
8 Keukenhof
Not far from The Hague lies one of the world's most famous spring attractions, Keukenhof. With over 7 million tulips, hyacinths and daffodils, this is the place to experience spring in full colour. Perfect for a day trip from the city. Conveniently, there is a direct bus from The Hague Central Station, so you can be among the flowers in no time.
