Lecture/debate
In her new monograph Beyond the Mulatta: Haunted Hybridity in Advertising, Dr Lenore Todd describes and analyses the trajectory of black and mixed-race women in the postcolonial history of visual culture.

She is an engine of middle-class aspiration and an avatar of ‘a better future’ that is near but will never come.
