Duo LeCoultre&VanHees will perform in the Waalse Kerk in the centre of the Hague. The duo will present their new album ‘Cuckoo’ - Songs of Europe, a great selection of folk songs that the duo has arranged for their formation on the guitar and violin/viola. This album celebrates their 5-year anniversary and showcases the compositions in a new light.
The program consists among other compositions of the song cycle ‘Folk Songs’ by Luciano Berio (Italy) originally composed for small ensemble, of two love songs from Jacques Brel (Belgium), and of traditional Greek folk melodies. Their repertoire could not omit the beautiful and frequently performed ‘Siete Canciones Populares Españolas’ (seven popular Spanish folk songs) by Manuel de Falla. The full program of the concert follows below.
Duo LeCoultre&VanHees is an ensemble of violinist Floor Le Coultre and guitarist Martin van Hees. As a duo they have performed on National Radio and at various international chamber music festivals and concert locations in the Netherlands, including the Grachtenfestival in Amsterdam.
