Holland Dance Festival - Glitter
Glitter is a choreographed composition about love, fame and recognition. It beckons to our childhood when everything seems possible and dreams have not yet faded. A melancholic glimpse into lost moments propels the work. "The real paradises are the ones we have lost" said Proust.
The cast embodies, with a hint of humour, intimate memories of dreams long behind us. In Glitter, stardom beckons and puts it in stark contrast to reality. In a flirtation with tragic burlesque, we are taken back to that which we all recognise: the illusion of greatness that everyone carries within them.
