On 11 and 12 October, it is time for the 8th edition of the iAfrica Film Festival, celebrating the vibrant cultural and artistic contributions of the African continent. This year, the festival's focus is on Southern Africa, with a carefully curated film programme highlighting the region's richness, diversity and creativity. The festival opens with a film introduced by the festival's founders, Dady Kiyangi and Angélique Mbundu.

With the iAfrica Film Festival, founders Dady Kiyangi and Angélique Mbundu offer a platform for makers from Africa and from the diaspora. In this way, through art and culture, they want to build a bridge between Dutch audiences and the African continent. Rebranding Africa is the founders' motivation: to broaden and sharpen(er) the public's view through the eyes of African makers.

Too often, a one-sided image of Africa still exists. An image that does not do justice to African life and culture. Art and culture express opinions, ideas, emotions, and are inseparable from daily life in Africa. By offering African (film) makers a platform in the Netherlands, the Yangambi Foundation contributes to creating and supporting knowledge about and connection with Africa in the Netherlands.

This year's festival consists of five beautiful films, all from the southern part of Africa. The first film, Measures of Men, will be introduced by the founders of the festival.
