ADS e ARTS - Audiation Of Demand Shaping
Inspired by the theme of art versus commerce, our performance explores the art venue as a transactional space and delves into our interactions with advertisements—their influence, allure, and criticisms. We draw on the concept of "audiation," the mental process of hearing and comprehending music even when the sound is absent, and “demand shaping,” a strategy to influence consumer behavior, both of which create lasting impressions and shape responses.
Each of the three compositions presents a unique perspective on the theme. “Same” by Virág Anna Virág explores the dual personas created by modern advertising. “Lithium” by Alam Gabriel Hernández Ramírez addresses the overwhelming and invasive nature of digital ads. “Vrij” by Maarten Bauer reflects on freedom and authenticity in decision-making, free from artificial constraints.
Performed by a diverse ensemble of vocalists, cellists, violinists, percussionists, and keyboardists, this event promises a thought-provoking exploration of music, media, and meaning.
