Speechless
From 23 June to 7 July, the exhibition ‘’Speechless 1#‘’ with works by four artists: Anka Hashin , Sona Sahakian , Lotte van Lieshout & Philip Akkerman.
The exhibition ‘’Speechless‘’ opens on Sunday 23 June with the PART1 exhibition featuring work by four artists.
Anka Hashin is a Russian-Dutch artist and writer (Leap Year, Friday Publishing). Her paintings and drawings are often highly figurative and have the same visual and imaginative power as her literary stories. Sensory, contemplative, direct, sometimes melancholic or absurd. Her work has been shown in galleries in the Netherlands, Moscow and Milan.
Sona Sahakian is an Armenian-Dutch artist living and working in The Hague. Her work (paintings, collages, drawings and video) explores an inner self experience of time, the dialogue between man and nature and the experience of being. She has shown her work in several solo and group exhibitions.
Lotte van Lieshout does not so much paint an inner world, but rather exposes unexplainable phenomena that become intense by herself or others. They are emotional experiences that are barely visible in reality, but which actually take shape as an experience. Her work has been shown in various galleries at home and abroad.
Philip Akkerman has been drawing and painting almost exclusively self-portraits for more than 40 years, painting all of humanity and painting itself. His work is collected by Museum Voorlinden , Museum Boijmans van Beuningen, Centraal Museum Utrecht, Art Museum The Hague, Hirshhorn Museum Washington DC, Museum More Gorssel, New Walk Museum & Art Gallery Leicester, Rijksmuseum and Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam.
