Bertolf

Bertolf's love of music began with bluegrass. His father played almost nothing else and the parental home was full of guitars, mandolins and banjos. Not long ago, the singer-songwriter and guitarist travelled to Nashville to finally fulfil his old dream: to record an album with his great heroes, musicians he has listened to all his life.

Among others, dobro great Jerry Douglas, fiddle genius Stuart Duncan and bass legend Mark Schatz played along. "Bluefinger" is the title of Bertolf's new album. In the eponymous theatre programme, he performs his new work and the best songs and hits from previous records, but in fully acoustic bluegrass versions, played by the top of the Dutch bluegrass scene. Bertolf also talks about the history of bluegrass and plays some pearls from this illustrious repertoire.
